2024 Western Conference of the Association for Asian Studies

Call for Papers

On behalf of Western Conference for the Association of Asian Studies and Weber State University, we are pleased to issue a Call for Papers for our 2024 in-person conference, to be held October 11-12, 2024 in Ogden, Utah. We will be joined for a keynote address by AAS Vice President, Dr. Hyaeweol Choi, the C. Maxwell and Elizabeth M. Stanley Family and Korea Foundation Chair in Korean Studies and Chair of the Department of Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies.at the University of Iowa. She is also the founding director of the Korean Studies Research Network (KoRN).

We welcome proposals from all disciplines related to the broad theme of Bridging Horizons: Local, Regional, and Global Developments in Asia. We invite proposals for Individual Papers, Organized Panels, Organized Roundtables, and Organized Workshops, from college and university faculty, K-12 schoolteachers, graduate students, independent scholars, and undergraduate students (when part of an organized panel that is chaired by a faculty mentor).

Please submit a proposal using the WCAAS 2024 submission form for individual papers, organized panels, roundtables, and workshops by July 1, 2024 for priority consideration.
